The Austrian company TON/Thonet decided in the 1960’s, to bring together various of architects to develop new designs. This specific model was designed in 1967 and is consider by many as the best example of the research into bentwood technology. This chair combines the traditional craftsmanship by Thonet/TON factory, while also being an example of pushing the boundaries in search for new forms. The chair was selected for the offices in the Czechoslovakian pavillion at Expo 1967 in Montreal and also for the restaurant in the Czechoslovakian pavillion at Expo in Osaka in 1970.
